Registration help
For most credit classes, you can register yourself online via Self Service in myClackamas. In some cases, you will be unable to register yourself for a class online, usually due to special permissions being required.
You can also submit registration requests directly to Registration and Records in person or via email. In-person registration requests can be done at any of the three campuses and will require a completed Add/Drop Form. Emailed registration requests can be sent to registration@clackamas.edu and must include the following information:
- Your full name
- Your student ID number
- Full course number(s)
- Any required permissions from instructor or advisor must be attached or part of the email chain
- Email must be sent from your CCC email account
For information about registering for specific programs or non-credit classes, you should contact the department offering the program/class.
If you already have a record at CCC but do not have a CCC email address, you should contact Registration and Records to have one created. Please do not resubmit an application for admission, as this can potentially result in a duplicate record being created for you. Note that if you are a CCC employee and need help accessing your CCC email or online student records, you should contact Human Resources.
The following are the steps you should take to log into myClackamas.
- Go to my.clackamas.edu
- Click “Forgot your email address?” and/or “Forgot your password?”
- Follow instructions to retrieve email address and/or password
- If this doesn’t work, verify your information with Registration and Records
- Email: registration@clackamas.edu (include your full name, date of birth, and student ID/last four digits of SSN)
- Phone: 503-594-6074
- In-person: Roger Rook Hall lobby at the Oregon City campus or Student Services front desk at the Harmony or Wilsonville campuses (bring photo ID).
- If you are still having trouble, contact IT Services for help
- Email: helpdesk@clackamas.edu
- Phone: 503-594-3500
- In-person: Barlow Hall, Room 104
It is possible for you to take a class for which you have not met the prerequisites, but it will require instructor consent (see the previous question about instructor consent for more information). Note that some courses have required prerequisites, while other courses have recommended prerequisites. You may register for courses that have recommended prerequisites without instructor consent.
If you have met the prerequisites at another school and have not had your official transcripts evaluated by CCC, you can obtain a requisite waiver from Advising by emailing advising@clackamas.edu with the following information:
- Your full name
- Your student ID number
- Full course number(s)
- Evidence of completion of the prerequisite(s) (e.g. unofficial transcript)
- Email must be sent from your CCC email account
Instructor consent, also known as a student petition, is required for courses that have already started and/or that require instructor permission to register (for example, individual music lessons). You can obtain instructor consent in the following ways:
1. Self Service
- Find the instructor’s name and contact info on the course listing in Self Service or on the CCC directory. Request permission to add the class.
- The instructor can give consent online so that you can register yourself via Self Service.
2. Email
- Find the instructor’s name and email on the course listing in Self-Service Student Planning or on the CCC directory. Request permission to add the class.
- Forward their consent to registration@clackamas.edu. You must use your CCC email account and include your full name, student ID, and specific course information.
3. Add/Drop Form
- Fill out the Add/Drop Form
- Have the instructor sign the form and then submit to Registration and Records at the Oregon City campus or Student Services at the Harmony or Wilsonville campuses.
The final deadline to drop a class is by the end of the sixth week of the term. You cannot drop a class after this deadline has passed. Your only option at that point is to contact your instructor to request a Withdrawal, which will appear as a W on your transcript, but it will not affect your GPA. You should also contact your instructor directly to request any type of grade change.
The deadline to drop a class for a refund depends on the length of the class.
- For classes meeting 5 weeks or longer: during the first two weeks of class
- For classes meeting 3-4 weeks: during the first week of class
- For classes meeting 2 weeks or less: before the class begins
If you miss the deadline to drop for a refund, you can still drop the class to not receive a grade (but no refund) within the first six weeks of the term. After the deadline to drop for a refund has passed, you must submit a Refund Policy Petition to request a refund.
Lifelong learners age 65 or older can audit up to eight credits tuition-free (fees still apply) if space is available. Just complete the Senior Tuition Waiver and Course Audit Form and return it to Registration and Records.
